Broken Gold |
Hi. My name is Broken Gold. I am a record. A lot of friends raised money to make me real. I can't wait to share my life with them. And with you. If you want to. My parents are an urban folk singer and an R&B/dub organ trio. We live in Austin, Texas. My birthday is February 22, 2011 and my favorite number is 11. |
Video tribute to Amelia Earhart, set to the 3rd track on me, called “Amelia.”

Just like the Grateful Dead said… Actually, I don’t remember being up on the Blue Ridge Mountain, but it’s awful hard to see from where they let me sit.
I’ve been to Hollywood, on trains through India (tucked in an iPod, which felt awesome), and on a hundred road trips to Houston with lots of different folks.
When is your next road trip? Please take me with you!
Mom says if she gets emailed any pictures of me with my friends out in the world, she’ll make a special page to post them all.
Take me! Take me!
Also, “Sing Out” is one of Valida Carroll’s ”DJ Picks” at KCRW in L.A.
She named Erin Ivey in her Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2011.
And Carla McDonald did a great interview with Mom about making… me!
I GOT MY NEW SUIT!! and now I’m ready for the world!!
The photo was taken by Keith Davis Young. Renee Fernandez designed the package. Erica Gray did Mom’s hair and makeup. They literally rolled her in dirt for this.
This feels great.
Mom and me in Hollywood!
I forgot to tell you!! Andrew Shapter is featuring one of my songs in a preview for his new film, The Teller and the Truth. My mom is letting people download the song for free! It’s called “Sing Out” and you should go get it.
This is me with my mom and Marc Cohn at One World Theatre in Austin. Thanks to our friend Hartt Stearns for the photo!
I got to watch the Old 97s at The Ghost Room last night. I love it there. Sometimes they let me sit in the jukebox.
Here I am at Houndstooth coffee shop in Austin. I dig impressive espresso. Today I’m in my “promotional use only” jacket. There’s a formal suit being made, too, by Renee Fernandez of Decoder Ring. I can’t wait to wear it soon.
tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
a muffled kick drum sound and cathedral ceilings (all good except for the “human” part)
